Two solar projects on California public land get federal OK
Approval of the plants planned in the Mojave Desert and Imperial Valley could increase the chances of several other projects in the state that await a U.S. green light. Federal officials Tuesday approved construction of the first two California solar energy projects to be built on public land in the sun-drenched Mojave Desert and Imperial Valley.

Southern California Edison expands its rooftop solar program
Once Southern California Edison is finished with it, a Rialto warehouse rooftop will generate a million watts of electricity, the utility announced Thursday. In announcing its third Inland industrial rooftop solar power facility, Edison said 16,300 panels would be installed on the building owned by AMB Property Corp. in time to meet peak summer demands.
